Last day of August

Hope you are all having a great weekend. I've had some sad news today so I've been busy making sympathy cards. They wont be blogged. Today I have the card for the 5yr old daughter of friends of ours.

Base card is a 6 x 6 scalloped card from stash.
Backing paper and ribbon from stash.
Flowers from stash and coloured with FM's.
Image is from Wee stamps by Sylvia Zet.
Coloured her in with FM's and cut her out with Spellbinders Gold Label 4 and fixed to card with foam pads.
The number 5 is a Memory Box die and coloured with FM's.
Peel offs were used too.

Thank you for calling by and leaving comments.
I will visit your blogs too.

42 years!

Our 42nd Wedding Anniversary today! Where has the time gone?! Hope we have a lot more to come.
I'm rather pleased with the card I did for my hubby as I only started it late on Monday evening.

I used an 8 x 8 base card.
The image is one I used for friends anniversary last week. I'm sorry but I don't know whose the image is. I coloured it in my Flexmarkers and cut it out using Spellbinders Timeless Rectangle.
I wrapped the base card with red organza ribbon (stash) and tied in a bow. Then added the image to the card with double sided foam pads. Next I used a stamp from Claritystamps and added a flower from my stash.
That was the outside done now to put the verse I had found weeks ago and copy it onto the insert! Well could I find this verse could I heck!! I'd been saving it for this card and it was nowhere to be seen! Well to say I was upset is putting it mildly but hey ho onto the Internet I go and found another one I liked. So all turned out well in the end!

Thank you for stopping by and leaving comments.
It means a lot to me.

Bank Holiday Monday

Hi everyone, hope you have all enjoyed your Bank Holiday weekend. Weather's not been too bad here hope it was the same where you lived.
Card I have to show you is a commission card from the same customer as before but this time it's for her daughter's birthday.

This is done on an 8 x 8 scalloped card and the image is Fancy from Saturated Canary.
I coloured her in with Flexmarkers, I love these markers I think they are brilliant!
I cut her out with Spellbinders Labels Twenty-Nine and matted her onto some green pearlescent card which I cut out with the same die.
I used a Marianne Design Rose die for the border which was cut out of green pearlescent card.
Other Marianne Design dies I used are the butterflies, the small swirls and the leaf flourish!
I used Spellbinders Delicate Aster for the orange flowers and the other flowers I used were out of my stash. Used some peel offs and the jobs finished.
Thank you for visiting. It means a lot to have your comments on my cards it assures me that I'm going in the right direction.

Thank you very much

Nicki's Card

This is a card I have done for a lovely young lady that I am delighted to class as a friend.
So I hope you like it!
This image is from Saturated Canary and is called Fancy. I coloured her with Flexmarkers and then cut her out by using a die from Spellbinders Labels 29. Next I made the base card for the easel with card stock from my stash.
Next I used Glitter Girls Keepsake board called Radiance and embossed and cut out two pieces in different coloured card. I also embossed and cut out two extra pieces of the edging on this design and used them as the stopper.
I embellished with paper flowers from my stash and coloured them in using the same colour of Flexmarker as her dress.  I also used pearls which are from Chloe's Designs. Then finally I used peel offs and ribbon to finish it off.

Thank you for taking the time to stop by
Any comments are truly appreciated whether good or bad.

Happy Anniversary

Hi everyone! A little late in the day or should that be night, lol. If I don't do it now I might not get round to it, so here we go.
This is an Anniversary card for some dear friends of mine. I wanted something simple and elegant, I hope I've achieved that.

I used velvet card as the A5 base card. On top of this I used Glitter Girls Keepsake Celebration board to emboss a panel that would emulate the shape of the Spellbinder die I used for the topper. This die is the Resplendent Rectangles. The rose stamp I'm afraid I can't remember whose it is. If anyone should know whose it is could you please let me know, thank you. I used Flexmarkers to colour the image. Peel offs were used for the sentiment and my friends names. The Special Friend stamp is an Art Deco stamp that was free with numerous others in a magazine. The pearls are once again from Chloe's Design.

I hope you like this and thank you for visiting. It's truly very much appreciated.

Cute Owl

Well here I am again! I finished a commission card this afternoon and its for a man! Now who hates doing male cards? Sometimes they just seem to be easy and other times you can't think of anything to do! That's was me a couple of days ago nothing came to mind so I thought have a play! So out came the few masks and the few Distress Inks that I own and this is what I came up with!
I started off with a white piece of 8 x8 cardstock. Then I through the masks I have and decided which would suit a male card! I picked out 4 all of them from Splodgeaway!!
1st I used the tread like one with DI Tumbled Glass
2nd I then used the animal print with DI Scattered Straw
3rd I used a Chicken wire with DI Budled Sage
4th I used the clock one with DI Tea Dye
I wasn't sure if this was going to work although I have these masks I've never used them before! So I decided to us the Owl. Now I've seen him used and he looked magnificent! I was just praying that this would turn out if only marginally like the ones I'd seen it would be ok!

So out with the Owl and i used him with DI Brushed Corduroy. Then I cut him out with a xCut oval die and then edged it with a brown Promarker. After this I distressed the edges slightly with the DI Brushed Corduroy.

So all that needed to be done was fix it all together. So I matted the background onto a piece of brown card stock then I wrapped a length of jute ribbon around both the background and the brown card and fixed it at an angle. So next came the little fellow, he's so darn cute, and I fixed him in the middle of the card with double sided foam pads! All that needed to be done was fix it onto an 8 x 8 scalloped card. I had my card for a male done except the Happy Birthday and the name of the recipient. I don't know if you've noticed but I do like to put their name on the card.
Using Clarity boxed alphabet I stamped the greeting and the name in DI brushed corduroy cand fixed them onto the card with foam pads. Just an insert inside with a cheeky greeting and all was done.

I hope I haven't been too long winded about this ( I have haven't I) and you have enjoyed your visit here. So Thankyou for visiting its very much appreciated.
